HiCAD 2020 - Profile installation
The profile laying module provides you with convenient options for covering walls and roof surfaces with profiles and laying elements in the shortest possible time.

The following functions are available:
- Profile relocation: Starts the dialog windowProfile layingto configure a new routing.
- Length optimization: Allows you to extend the profiles of a profile installation in order to have to send fewer different lengths at the expense of a larger waste.
- Packaging: Here you can divide profiles into different packages. This information is used in the drawing process.
- Cross joints: This function enables you to mark line elements in a sketch that are to be used as cross joints during the subsequent installation.
- Roof pitches: With this function you can mark edges for different roof pitches.
- Exact representation,Contour cut,Uncut contourand contour combined: These four display modes are available for displaying placements. Select the desired view here.

HiCAD 2020 - Automatic PDF generation with drawing management (Helios)
Generate general documents automatically In practice it often happens that general arrangement drawings of a construction are made manually in a separate sheet area. These drawings contain, for example, sectional views, cut-outs, shortened views, detailed views, etc. and are intended to clarify the construction of the model.
These sheet areas are not taken into account when creating external production documents. HiCAD 2020 - dimensioning of holes in folded plates
Clear, easily legible technical drawings, e.g. Workshop drawings, general or production drawings as well as individual part views are essential for reliable planning and production.
The automated and optimized creation / management of these important documents in HiCAD is based on the latest technology and ensures that clear production documents are generated quickly, even with extensive constructions - with dimensions and labeling suitable for production. HiCAD automatically determines the required number of drawing sheets for the components to be detailed and distributes the production views with practical logics on the drawings.
Dimensioning rules for workshop drawings are managed via the configuration management (isdconfigeditor.exe). In order to be able to edit dimensioning rules more easily and comfortably, an integrated editor for dimensioning rules is available in HiCAD.
Before working with the editor, please read the information in the section Settings and Configurations relating to the intended use.
HiCAD 2020: Parametrics for railings
As of HiCAD 2020 - analogous to installation elements - the HiCAD dialog editor (HiCAD GUI Creator) is also used to create user-specific dialogs for railing variants.
The variant editor for railings has therefore been adapted accordingly. If a parameterized part is active, this function can be used to generate a corresponding variant including a list of the variables used as a CSV file.
This file is required to create user dialogs with the HiCAD dialog editor, which can be started directly from the function dialog.
HiCAD 2020: Steel construction bracket connection
The tab connection has been completely revised in HiCAD 2020. The previous tab connection (1310) has been replaced by the new, extended tab connection (2310).
HiCAD 2020: New sheet metal from Solid / expansion sheet metal processing
In HiCAD, the old sheet metal from solid function has now been replaced everywhere by the sheet metal from solid function that can be accessed via the menu bar.
When generating a sheet from a solid with two countersinks with a conical surface, e.g. DIN74, the geometry is correctly recognized on 2 sides, regardless of the start surface. When processing, there is now the option of reworking the folded sheet afterwards. Recesses or additions can be made.
HiCAD 2020: Explosion with automatic direction
With the automatic direction control, a new type of movement is available for exploded views. As with the shift, several parts are shifted linearly at the same time - but not with the same distance but distributed along the selected direction in relation to a fixed part.
HiCAD 2020: 3D sketch
In the new 3D sketch, the sketch functions from the various HiCAD industries have been standardized for the first time. Similar to plane sketches, the new 3D Sketcher is also a convenient tool for creating three-dimensional lines for 3D sketches.
