The first one's your winner, if for no other reason than the utter joy and fit of laughter I'll have at hearing Don La Fontane say the title in the coming attractions.

Is this even news? Some guy with no prior credits and no connection to the rights owners of the original film has written an unauthorized script which, even if it's great, is more or less fan fiction. How can he shop around a sequel to something he doesn't own the rights to? I might as well start shopping around an Obi Wan vs Gandalf script.

Huh? Relax? I didn't understand your post, so I asked what you were saying. Not sure how that came off as unrelaxed...

OwlAtHome08-28-07 05:36 PM

Sounds lame. What really happens is After Morris comes home and sees his car has been totaled he rapes the sh*t out of Cameron, who later that night shoots his dad in the head and runs away to join the Texas Rangers. 20 or so years later Cameron and Ferris reunite in a menal hospital where they get Scatman Crothers fired then go fishing with Jack Nicholson while SpongeBob gets busy with Sloane.

MGR08-28-07 05:46 PM

This might be better:
Ferris had a son, Ferris Jr. who inherited all his pop's personality & genes, even more so.
Ferris Jr. is now a high school senior.
Pop and son have a day's worth of adventures together somehow, etc etc

Hey Roman Polanski raped a girl and they gave him an Oscar.

NitroJMS08-28-07 06:50 PM

I liked the idea I read a few years ago:

Ferris is now middle-aged and working in your standard corporate office gig and no longer has any semblance of his former personality. Cameron has become the opposite of his old self and breaks Ferris out of work to change him back to his previously care-free ways.

Ronnie Dobbs08-28-07 07:25 PM

If they make Ferris 2 I hope Jason Schwartzman plays his son.

Same thing I thought. Not to mention that it's entirely possible that someone (or numerous people) has written their own sequel and just didn't have the bright idea to send a copy to the writer of a blog.

Just tonight, I found out what HNIC stood for when I was watching Lean on Me on HBO.

I think this will be one of those sequels that if it gets made, it will have none of the original cast members in it a la Son of the Mask and Dumb and Dumberer.

What a joke this script is....Ben Stein played this exact part in Planes, Trains and Automobiles!!!!!!!!!

You're actually thinking of Edie Mclurg in PT&A. But close.

These things pop up every once in a while. Didn't someone write a Smokey and the Bandit sequel a few years back called East Bound and Down? That news made the rounds, even got a big write up in EW. But what came of it? Nothing.

There was already a sequel to Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The TV show from 1990!

It had Charlie Schlatter, Ami Dolenz, and Jennifer Aniston.

Ferris Bueller, the TV show.

resinrats08-29-07 11:57 AM

I wish they'd put the show on DVD. I remember liking it when it was on. I'm pretty sure it was the first time I'd seen Aniston. I have 1/2 an episode on a video tape somewhere and the last time I watched it a year or two ago, it was still funny.

The other half contains the part where Jennifer Aniston changes her clothes by the pool, but unfortunately all video tapes of that scene have been lost.
